11 Beautiful Places To Visit Around India This Spring!

travelshopee

www.travelshopee.in

Always it’s Spring and everyone’s in love and flowers pick themselves.’ – E. E. Cummings
Spring is here. And we know that the best part of the spring season are the flowers. They bring colour to the world, they make you poetic and they give you a chance to appreciate nature (something we're all guilty of not doing enough). But we hardly get to enjoy a view of colourful daisies, tulips, and blossoms growing in a row, unless we decide to take a trip! Read on as we take you through 11 places in India that prove spring is the most beautiful season of all.

1. Uttrakhand Spring Bird Festival, Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand is covered with the Himalyan mountain range on the northern side, and that’s the reason most of India’s rivers find their origins in this gorgeous state. During spring, make your way to Uttarakhand to experience the rivers in full flood. This is because the snow that accumulates through the months of October through February begins to thaw in the valley at this time and the hamlets begin to fill with colours. Moreover, Uttarakhand also organises the Uttarakhand Spring Bird Festival, where bird watching camps are carried out at 25 birding destinations within the state.

2. Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh, Jammu and Kashmir

We know when we talk about ‘Kashmir,’ it’s paradise on earth. These two gorgeous gardens around the Dal lake will leave you speechless. Shalimar Bagh, a huge garden, about 31 acres in whole, was built by Emperor Jahangir for his most favourite wife Nur Jahan. Nishat Bagh was built by Nur Jahan’s brother. You’ll spot perfect channels of water and a lot of diversity in both, flowers and colours, here.

3. Rhododendron Sanctuary, Sikkim

Sikkim is beautiful throughout the year, but it’s in the months of April and May when you can see subtle pink flowers called the rhododendrons blossom taking the beauty of the place to the next level. At the sanctuary is where you can take a trek and soak in the view of these beautiful flowers!

4. Coorg, Karnataka

We know that Coorg is known as the coffee hub of India. Although it is a great tourist destination if you’re looking to visit a peaceful place, it’s in March and April that white flowers of coffee make this place even more serene. The air is chilly and you can smell the fragrance of snow white coffee blossoms.

5. Tulip Garden, Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir

Tulip Garden, located at Rainawari, are right next to the Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh. This garden is Asia’s biggest tulip garden. With over 70 varieties of flowers, and several colours of tulips, this place is truly the abode of god.

6. Darjeeling, West Bengal

Darjeeling has always been a destination that attracts travellers all the year long. But the months of February and March are the best to visit if you’re a tea lover. This is that time of the year when tea is brewed from the first flush. Since tea plantations are everywhere in Darjeeling, you’ll be experiencing a different yet unique spring. And who knows? You might just get inspired to write that book you’ve been waiting for!

7. Thekkady, Kerala

Thekkady is most famous for its lush fields at the Periyar National Park. And why we recommend the month of February is because the mango plants are in full bloom here.
Not to forget, but this is the best time to spot rare species of animals, from tigers to sloth bears, within the deep forests.

8. Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu

Kodaikanal is undoubtedly a charming place. It’s green, fresh and in spring it becomes better because the weather has a nip in the air. During the spring season, you’ll see low hanging clouds taking over the valley; and with synchronised terrace farming, it makes a view to die for.

9. Dalhousie and Khajjar, Himachal Pradesh

Dalhousie and Khajjar are best visited in the summers, but spring is brilliant here nevertheless. You can spot meadows stretching for miles at once with little streams bringing in the sound of water make it a heavenly experience.

10. Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh

The town of Mandla is situated nearby and is surrounded by the Narmada river on three sides. Just round the corner is Kanha National Park, which is best visited in spring. Kanha is home to about 1,000 different species of flowering plants. It also has open grasslands and aquatic plants in the little lakes that make it an irresistible destination. This is the time of the year when Kanha is lush green and chances of spotting tigers are most favourable.

11. Mughal Gardens, Delhi

Come spring, and Mughal gardens are open to the public. These gardens are located in the Rashtrapati Bhavan and are truly gorgeous. Flowers and colours can be found here in symmetry. There is a wide variety of roses and tulips that grow among countless other species of flowers. This year, the garden will be open to the public from 13th to 20th Feb.
